This program has been created to reduce the numbers of high school dropouts in the Portuguese language community. Brazilian Alliance understands that many teenagers choose to work as opposed to furthering their education. We hope to make alliances with public high schools throughout the Northern California Bay Area to support children of Portuguese backgrounds and help them decide how to move forward with their education. We hope to encourage younger Portuguese-speaking teenagers to see that transferring to college is possible regardless of their economical background. Their success can serve as an example to inspire future generations of Portuguese students to excel academically and have a sense of pride.
We hope to help at least 10 students initially on a regular basis and expand our program in the coming years.
We hope to begin offering these programs in the fall of 2010. Check back here for updates!
