Melissa K. Martinelli -- Vice-Chair.  

Melissa is a dedicated and passionate San Francisco-based immigration attorney with extensive experience in immigration law and human rights. Her areas of practice focus on asylum law, family-based immigration, U-Nonimmigrant visas, removal defense and citizenship.

Together with the Executive Director of the Brazilian Alliance and many volunteers, Melissa helped launch the Brazilian Alliance's legal advice clinics held in the Fall and Winter of 2012.  The clinics provide free legal counsel to the low-income immigrant community in Marin County, focusing on educating the community about their rights, and assisting young eligible "DREAMers" with their applications for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals ("DACA"). 

Prior to living in the Bay Area, Ms. Martinelli lived and studied in both Santiago, Chile and Natal, RN, Brazil, where she became fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese.
